Meeting notes:
Thirteen members were present. If you weren’t at the meeting, we missed you! Bret Schroder won $7.00 in the drawing, but failed to find the queen of spades. The pot will start at $48.00 at our May 18th meeting. We have sold two picnic tables, so we need to build one more.
The Saline County Fair is the week of July 19 – 23rd. We will help with several activities during that week. The parade will be on Saturday, July 23rd.
Grant projects were discussed. It was decided that we would try to do a project with windows and doors at the Youth Cabin. We will look it over at our work project May 11th.
Program:
Senator Laura Epke spoke to the club about her work in the Nebraska legislature. She said some of topics this year were tax relief, state aid to education, mountain lions and the death penalty. They will be looking at the effect filibusters have on the proceedings of the legislature and possible changes.
