This past week the club enjoyed a combined service project and social event at the Youth Cabin south of Crete. We had an excellent member turnout and spent roughly an hour cleaning up yard and trail areas around the cabin as well as cleaning tables and appliances inside the cabin. The weather was just about perfect for a potluck supper outside on the Rotary picnic tables after the cleaning was completed. Rotary has had a supportive relationship with the cabin for many years and several of our members attended scouting activities there when they were kids. During dinner Craig spoke about some of the cabin's history and some of the challenges going forward. Our next meeting will be on May 10th at the VFW. Our speaker for the meeting is Azariah Lawal. He is a Nigerian immigrant and would love to share his story with us. He is a Rotary member in Lincoln and currently in nursing school. Additionally we have a number of club items to discuss and most importantly need to make a decision on our grant project plans. See you then!
