Last week our scholarship recipients were introduced to the club. The following students will be attending universities as indicated. Daniel Braunberger--Evangel University in Springfield, MO studying Music Education, Ayla Tschetter—Fort Hayes State in Hayes, KS seeking a Nursing degree, Ethan Sherman--Midland University in Fremont for Athletic Training and Ana Perez-Mendez (PALS) – UNL studying Business Administration and Spanish.
Danielle Blackledge--participated in the RYLA Retreat. She was paired with 5-6 other students in her small group to work together throughout the weekend. They participated in a ropes course, created a tower out of marshmallows and toothpicks, and came up with a way to help Kenyans. They wanted to help give them clean drinking water by building wells throughout the country. Each group was given a country to assist, and Danielle's group was selected as the winner! All of the activities focused on building leadership and teamwork skills. Danielle estimated about 30 students total attended. Danielle’s parents joined her for the meeting. Paulina Juarez was not able to attend.
