Last week we heard from member Jenn Lampila who shared about her family's geneology, some family member history because she has such deep roots in the Crete community, and lastly shared some of her passion of photography. She shared that her grandmother had 89 great-grandchildren before her death at 105 years old! Some fun stories about her Great Aunt who enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was a battlefield nurse in WWII! Some history on her dad's side of the family who immigrated from Finland to New York around 1912-1914. She passed around some old photo albums which were so fun to look at! When sharing about herself, she focused on her love of photography and shared some incredible photos she's taken since taking a class at Doane. Her talent is obvious, but her passion for both the history and photography was so much more evident. Thank you for sharing your love of both, Jenn! The next meeting will be held on March 12th, and the program will be the Fahrnbruch's History with Rotary!!! Jim and Jane have offered to share their experience with Rotary, but have asked that questions be sent ahead of time if possible. Please email Shay if you have any questions you'd like answered. Please keep it relevant to Rotary if possible. The March Wednesday Lunch will be at Old Main (Crete's Country Club) on March 19th from 12-1pm. The idea is that we will all get together in a social setting, no Rotary business, to just have fun together. We hope to see you there! March's second program is the Healing Hearts Therapy Dog program. It'll be a regular meeting at Doane. Please make a point to attend to learn more about this program!
