Last week, Shanon Koranda spoke to us about the Hope Crisis Center, a domestic abuse treatment center in Crete.  If you're interested in hearing more about the resources the center provides, you can visit them at 108 E. 11th St, in Crete or call (402) 826-5727.

 

We have many upcoming events to prepare for!  Thank you to the many members who have already volunteered to help make it a success.  Here's what you can expect:

Aug. 29th, 4pm--Police department appreciation.  Tom P. will bring a certificate of appreciation, Tom S. will bring cupcakes.  I'd like someone to say a few words of thanks on behalf of the club thanking them for their service. 

Aug. 29th, 5:30-6:30pm--Ice Cream social at the Farhnbruch's (435 Westridge Rd).  If you need to know what you've signed up to bring, email Janelle and I'll let you know!

Sept. 5th,--Regular meeting with Sharon Crouse speaking about the Crete Backpack Program.  Tentatively, I'd like to induct Marilea Thiem as a new member to the club.  I'm reaching out to her to confirm she can make the meeting.

Sept. 8th, 9am-12pm--Saturday morning work day.  This is the day DG Julie can make it so I'm hoping for a good turn out!  Hope to see everyone there! 

Sept. 12th, noon and 5pm--Wednesday work afternoon/evening.  Tom P. will be at the concession stand to work on the window.  You are welcomed to come at either noon or 5 to help! 

Sept. 15th, 4:30-9pm--Concert at the Crete Youth Cabin.  The youth cabin is hosting 5 Mile Bridge at the youth cabin.  Please let me know if you can help either shift. 

 

Sign up sheets for all of these events were passed out at the Aug. 21st meeting.  If you did not sign up or weren't able to make the meeting, please email Janelle to be signed up for a shift.  The sheets will also be passed around at the Sept. 5th meeting.  I have also emailed some members individually about the concession stand work days.  Please be checking your emails.
