Crete Library & Community Center--The opportunity to vote on a community center in Crete will come on November's election ballot. This community center will provide library services as well as a storm shelter in severe weather. Steve Hensel will have more information on this center at our Tuesday October 11 meeting at noon. The location is The Brew House. Lunch will be served: soup and sandwich for $6.00.
The Pumpkin Festival was a success. We had 17 members who helped man the Chamber’s Information booth and our Rotary booth. We sold $160.00 in Grocery Grab tickets and the picnic table for over $300.00. Thanks for all of your help.
Grocery Grab is off and running. If you haven’t picked up tickets yet, see Chris Duntz. At Tuesday’s meeting we will be signing up to sell at Walmart on Saturday mornings. Sell, Sell, Sell!
Our weekly drawing is up to $150.00. Maybe you will be the big winner!!
Members responsible for programs at meetings for October are Tom S. and Jill M.; for November, Mary G. and Jim J.
Karen Drevo has agreed to put Ann Howard's desk on Craig’s list. We will see if we can get a buyer.
Our club now has a Facebook page! If you are on Facebook, simply search Crete Rotary Club and like our page. Don't forget to share on our own page to get the word out! An event is created for the Pumpkin festival if you'd like to share that, as well. Janelle McGinnis, Mariana Garcia, and Alec Engebretson will all be admins in the upcoming weeks, so if you have suggestions for the page, let one of them know. It's brand new, so any ideas are welcomed.
