Crete Pumpkin Festival another huge hit! That's the headline from this past weekend. The festival seemed very well attended and the weather was nearly perfect. Crete Rotary Club was involved in numerous ways. On Saturday Jenn, Shay and Jack handed out "friendship" bracelets to the kids after the pet parade. Jenn, Shay and Janelle put together a "Rotary" scarecrow that was mounted on a downtown streetlight pole. Tom manned the hayrack rides and provided his tractor and trailer and then drove the rig during the Sunday festival. And finally, seven different members sold game tickets and other items to festival participants at the Crete Chamber of Commerce information tent on Sunday. Thanks to all that helped! This week- We have a regular meeting this Wednesday at the VFW. We have a number of items to discuss including Grocery Grab ticket sales and plans to do the highway cleanup on the following Wednesday; Our speaker is Lt. Monty Lovelace of the Nebraska State Patrol. He is the Commander of the Nebraska Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. We will see you there!
