Last week, member Jack Thompson gifted President Shay Smith a thank you on behalf of the club for being our president last year and committing to another year. In addition, she received a gift certificate to a quilting shop since it's one of her creative hobbies. Shay was also the program last week as she brought some pictures, mementos, and special items from her life and took the members in attendance through her life and why the items are important to her. Members had 5 minutes to look over the items and pictures on the tables. Afterwards there was a "quiz" members answered about the items and why they were meaningful to her. It was an innovative way to present the items important to her in her life and learn more about Shay. Thank you, Shay, for sharing such beautiful items and memories with us! This week is the Saline County Fair and we need all hands on deck for our service projects. We need help in the following areas: - 7/17--Figure 8 Ticket Takers from 6-8PM (greatest need)
- 7/17--Beer Garden 6-8pm and 8-10pm
- 7/18, 7/19, 7/20--Recyling help 6:30am (need)
Thank you all for signing up already, and if you haven't, that's ok! Just email Janelle, or better yet, just show up! We won't turn you away! If you've forgotten which shift you've signed up for, email Janelle for confirmation, please. Because this is a busy week for us, we will not have a Rotary lunch social on Wednesday. Join us for our next regular meeting on July 23rd where we were hear from a local writer, Gene, who wrote a book about the Hallam tornadoes. We will not be in the board room, but rather the Troborogh room right next door. If you're unsure where it is and would like someone to escort you to the room, please let either Shay or Janelle know and we'd be happy to help you get to the right place. We hope to see you all there!
