Treasurer Jim Fahrnbruch reported on account balances and status of the club's giving for the Foundation and PolioPlus.
Treasurer Jim Fahrnbruch reported that we currently have $2,162.85 in the checking account and $6,251.86 in the scholarship account. We have sufficient funds to cover the scholarships for this year as well as next year.
The Club is on track to meet our goal for PolioPlus but lacking for gifts to The Rotary Foundation. Our goals and status for the Rotary year ending June 30 are as noted below:
PolioPlus. Goal is $32/member or $832 total. We have currently raised $642. Note that contributions can come from outside the Rotary club.
The Rotary Foundation. Goals are 100% participation with an average of at least $100/member. We have gifts of only $1,231 toward our goal of $2,600.
The pot for the 3-way-split drawing grew to a whopping $12 this week. John Lothrop won the drawing and directed both his share and the designated portion to go to the Foundation. To the feigned disappointment of everyone, he did not draw the Queen of Spades.
Even though Cody Vance wasn't at the meeting (due to Doane's softball game), Jim explained the rules again for the benefit of our guest.

The work is being done to address shortcomings of the current facility, specifically the need for more space, to provide an elevator for accessibility, to provide air conditioning, to meet fire code standards, and to rectify problems with water/plumbing in the building.
As shown in the drawing, the building will be expanded to the north. In addition to adding more floor space, it will provide a second set of stairs to comply with fire code. For accessibility, a new elevator will replace to old lift chair. The entrance on the west side of the addition will become the primary entry point of the building and will provide increased security. The basement in the addition will include a "sally port" to facilitate the transportation of detainees to/from court.
The expansion will allow the Probation Office, County Attorney, and Energy Management to move into the Courthouse from various locations around Wilber.
The County Commissioners are currently reviewing bids. They anticipate that total costs will be approximately $7,500,000 with a completion date by the spring of 2017.
