This week: No Meeting Reminder: Next regular meeting is Wednesday, August 2nd at 5:30 at Perry Campus Center on the Doane University campus. At this time there is no plan to have a meal. Rotary Dues: First half of our club dues ($65) can be paid now and should be paid prior to Sept.1. You can also pay the full year dues ($130) if you wish. 2017 Saline County Fair Crete Rotary Club once again contributed time, effort and sweat to help with the county fair. 15 members (and two spouses!) participated in at least one project which included counting laps for the Figure 8 Races, hustling beer at the beer garden, and most fun of all, picking thru many recycling and trash barrels for plastic and aluminum. We recycled 10.5 bags of plastic (that’s 56 cubic feet of trash not going into the landfill) and 136 lbs. of aluminum cans generating $44.88 for the club. Thanks to all that helped! Marty Fye/ Rotary Fundraising Event is scheduled for Wednesday evening August 9th at the Brew House. We will need all members to plan on helping with that event. We will need to promote it ahead of time and help as servers, greeters, cleanup etc. on Aug.9th. More info will be coming soon but be sure to have it on your calendar! There will not be a regular meeting that week. *You will receive an email in the next day or two with the committee rosters. We will talk about the committees at the Aug. 2nd meeting. Club members Tom Parker and Craig Snyder have asked for the club’s help in staffing the Youth Cabin Open House event on Sunday afternoon August 20th. It will showcase all of the improvements they have completed at the cabin and hopefully take in some donations. More info will be coming! This event will take the place of our regular meeting that week. |
