Last week, Chris N. led us in a great discussion on how to make our Rotary club better than it already is! We touched on the meeting experience, member engagement, communication, membership growth, and retention. There were a lot of great ideas shared from both tenured and newer members which gave many great perspectives. If you were unable to attend the meeting and have ideas on how to make Rotary better, feel free to email Chris with your feedback! One of the main topics brought up was condensing the business portion of the meeting, and possibly making the business portion of the meeting be at the end rather than at the beginning. No definitive decisions were made at the meeting, but the format may change just a little as club leadership tries something new at upcoming meetings. Thank you for leading the discussion, Chris, and thank you to all who gave great feedback. Next up, is our District Governor, Gretchen Bren! She will be joining us on September 9th. We hope to have a great turn out for the meeting! If you have pictures still to submit, send them to Chris or Jenn so a slideshow can be put together for the visit! If you also have some native Crete items, let Chris or Janelle know so we can put together a gift for Gretchen! Our Grocery Grab is in full swing! Jim Johnson is getting sponsors solidified, so please let him know when you get a committment from businesses. The drawing will be on Oct. 28th, and the grab on November 7th at 7: 45am. Mark your calendars! We have some fun work project dates planned! Sept. 23rd we hope to help with the BB court, stay tuned for details there. If that date works, it would be in place of a regular meeting and its recommended to have clothes you don't mind getting dirty to help. Oct. 14th is a highway clean up. Members meet at 5:00 at CAMC for that and disburse from there. Oct. 28th is potentially a park dedication! We'd like to invite as many of the members of the community as possible to help unveil the new equipment and court! Spread the word!
