Last week, we worked on updating our bylaws in preparation for grant applications! To date, the club has raised $12,200 thanks to community donors and one of our own club members. We also had a discussion about our club led by Shay to make the grant applications easier. Some of the questions included: What has been your favorite project Rotary has done? What is Rotary Park used for? What makes our Rotary club different from the others? It was a great way to gather ideas on what current members love about Rotary and get insight to why we stay and do what we do for the community. Thank you for leading us in such a meaningful discussion, Shay! One of the things Shay mentioned is that it makes it easier to get Grant money if the members or those involved with the organization are willing to give to the project as well. If you or your family are willing to contribute to the park project financially, please let Shay know so it can be counted as a future committment. Every little bit helps! Here are some upcoming items to note: - The Boy Scout Pancake feed is on February 22nd. A sign up sheet will be going around at the next meeting in preparation. Please look at your calendars and save the date.
- The Southeast Nebraska RLI registration is LIVE!!! Thank you to those who have already signed up, here's the link to register or get more information: Rotary Leadership Institute - Hosted by District 5650 | Rotary District 5650
- In response to feedback from the survey results, there will be a monthly Rotary Lunch Social beginning January 15th. This month's social will be at 9th Street from 12pm-1pm. Shay will be sending out an e-invite to members to RSVP. Please fill it out so the kitchen knows how many to prepare for. This lunch is not required, but encouraged. We hope to see you all there!
