Last Week- Thanks to Jim and Jane Fahrnbruch for hosting our "Ice Cream Social" meeting at their house last Wednesday evening. We had 19 members attend the event and all brought decadently sweet ice cream, toppings and bars. Was it a surprise that this was our best attended meeting this Rotary year? It did not appear that the festivities were lessened too much when Jack T. won the drawing. He donated $10 to our Polio fund and DID NOT win the pot and it has now increased to $159. This is getting serious so be sure to attend our Sept. 6th meeting and buy lots of tickets! Tom Parker and Craig Snyder thanked the club for their support of the Youth Cabin Open House event. This Week- We will hold a Club Assembly at our Wednesday evening meeting with our primary topic to be organizing our committees for the rest of the year. I will ask the group to separate into their respective committees and select a committee chairperson. We will also want to discuss how each committee can contribute towards successful completion of our two "primary" projects coming up in the next few months: The Community Gardens Arbor Construction and Grocery Grab. Dues are Due! $65 for 1/2 the year or $130 for the whole year! And don't forget a Rotary Foundation contribution- our club goal is to average $110 donation per member. It's how we make our mark across the entire globe! Ice Cream Social Photos: (Courtesy Janelle S.)
