Last week's meeting we hosted two members of the Blue River Arts Council, Dr. Kate Hesser and Kristi Capek, who spoke, along with Rotary member Shay Smith, about the upcoming 29 Wine & Dine: Hops Around Crete. Additional guests were Clay Ehlers, District Assistant Governor, and Justin Kozisek's family, including Betsy, Tenley and Harrison

BRAC's next event is a fundraiser for the marquee at the Isis Theatre, to be held on Leap Day, Saturday, Feb. 29. Limits tickets will be sold for a progressive dinner hosted at four downtown locations: The Brew House, Veterans and Friends (VFW), Artisan Mark Coffee and Goods, and My Bar. Attendees will be given passport books with sponsor ads to collect stamps at each stop during the evening. Tickets are available from BRAC members or online (see this link on the BRAC website - https://blueriverartscouncil.org/)

Shay also briefed the group on the status of planning in phases at the theatre, citing the lobby redesign, tear down of the mezzanine or upper level projection booth, seating, and future renovation of the auditorium interior.

The week of Feb. 10 has turned out to have two of our annual service projects: the Crete Elementary Book Fair (Feb. 10 & 13) and the Boy Scout Troop/Pack 212 Pancake Feed (Feb. 15). Sign up sheets will go around at Tuesday's noon meeting and later in the day will be sent out by email for those who could not attend the meeting. We have also planned for members to attend Doane University basketball games on Wednesday, Feb. 12, instead of a regular meeting. This may put the following week of the regular schedule into question, given the busy week of the 10th.

During this week's Tuesday meeting we will finalize Grocery Grab sponsorships, the meeting schedule for February, and then hear from U.S. Census Bureau representatives who are recruiting census takers in Saline County.

We also received correspondence from Collyn Florendo, who shared the following online story about former member Charles Hanson's son, Peter, and his health battle and treatments through Stanford Children's Health in California. https://healthier.stanfordchildrens.org/en/caring-for-patients-with-complex-conditions/
