Jill won the drawing and donated $9 to our Polio Fund. She did not draw the Queen so the accumulated pot grows to $116.
Jim F. gave us an update on our year end club foundation and polio plus donations. Our final numbers were:
Annual Fund: $3,221.04 (goal $2750)
Polio: $954.00 (goal $951)
Total Giving = $4,175.04
Thank you ALL for your generosity this year! We made our goals thanks to a last minute "donation match" from Tom P. and everyone's work to push us over.
Our speaker this week was Kayleigh Schadwinkel to tell us about upcoming events from the chamber. Here are a few of the items she discussed:
The Chamber's new home at 2905 Betten Drive and an upcoming Open House sometime this fall.
The Crete Community Firework Display on July 3rd, 10pm at the College Heights Country Club.
Preparations for the Crete Pumpkin Festival on October 5-7. The event has grown so much that this year the Craft Show and Farmer's Market has been moved to City Park. Crete Rotary will be asked to participate again as usual, so keep your calendars open for that weekend!
Kayleigh also fielded questions on several topics including the status of construction of the long awaited new Fairfield Inn & Suites hotel.
