Club Assembly on July 30: Members brainstormed a few ideas for the upcoming Rotary year as well as finalized other plans for August meeting weeks. Last year's committee assignments were reviewed and any member wishing to switch committees can let Jenn know prior to the first meeting in September. Ron and Chris are in charge of September meeting assignments. Possibilities include the dictionary project for third graders, a meeting involving local first responders the week of Sept. 11 and the district governor's visit.

Thank you to Tom Parker for the update of the footbridges grant project at the Youth Cabin. He provided a model showing the next major, temporary rigging to help build five upright supports, two for one bridge and three on the other. The wood from the temporary rigging will be reused to build the permanent railings for the bridges. The meeting for the week of Aug. 14 will most likely be work hours on this project. Details are still to be determined.The speaker for this week's meeting, Tuesday, Aug. 6, is new Crete Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Josh McDowell.
