Greetings Crete Rotary! laugh

We are looking forward to our meeting this Wednesday evening. We have a special guest speaker lined up as you know. Rob Simmon from the Rotary Club in Glenwood Iowa will give a presentation on his service and unique experiences in the U.S. military and National Security Agency. He was stationed at the Strategic Air Command at Offutt Air Force Base and was there on 9/11. For the first time in several months the new chef (Gerald Kubicek) at the VFW is going to be preparing our meal. Many of you have already let Marilea know if you are eating and, if you have invited a guest, whether they are also eating. If you have not notified her, you have until tomorrow noon to let her know your dinning plans! Gerald is planning to have the meals ready by around 5:15, so you are encouraged to come a few minutes early to begin dining.

Because our speaker will likely need approximately and hour for his presentation, our agenda for the meeting will be shortened. But we will still hold our drawing and will visit about a couple topics. One of which will be a final update on our Golden Wheel Award project.

Looking into February our meeting dates are February 8th and 22nd. We also have service projects (Elementary Book Fair and Boy and Girl Scout pancake feed) all scheduled during the week of February 20th. Will be providing a sign up sheet at our next meeting for these events. More specific dates and times for these events will be forthcoming!

I would like to invite any member with interest in being our club's president for next year to let me know. I will be happy to visit with you about the duties and time commitments. You can also visit with any of our members who have served in that position in the past. We need to have our president elect determined by the end of February!

Have a great week and see you all Wednesday!
